Some new evaluations of the Tutte polynomial

چکیده

Interpretations for evaluations of the Tutte polynomial T (G;x, y) of a graph G are given at a number of points on the hyperbolae Hq = {(x, y) | (x − 1)(y − 1) = q}, for q a positive integer — points at which there are usually no other similarly meaningful graphical interpretations. Further, when q is a prime power, an alternative interpretation for the evaluation of the Tutte polynomial at (1−q, 0) is presented, more familiarly known as the point which gives the number of proper vertex q-colourings of G.

Tutte polynomials of wheels via generating functions

We find an explicit expression of the Tutte polynomial of an $n$-fan. We also find a formula of the Tutte polynomial of an $n$-wheel in terms of the Tutte polynomial of $n$-fans. Finally, we give an alternative expression of the Tutte polynomial of an $n$-wheel and then prove the explicit formula for the Tutte polynomial of an $n$-wheel.

On the tutte polynomial of benzenoid chains

The Tutte polynomial of a graph G, T(G, x,y) is a polynomial in two variables defined for every undirected graph contains information about how the graph is connected. In this paper a simple formula for computing Tutte polynomial of a benzenoid chain is presented.

Flow Polynomial of some Dendrimers

Suppose G is an nvertex and medge simple graph with edge set E(G). An integervalued function f: E(G) → Z is called a flow. Tutte was introduced the flow polynomial F(G, λ) as a polynomial in an indeterminate λ with integer coefficients by F(G,λ) In this paper the Flow polynomial of some dendrimers are computed.

Exploring the Tutte-Martin connection

The Martin polynomial of an oriented Eulerian graph encodes information about families of cycles in the graph. This paper uses a transformation of the Martin polynomial that facilitates standard combinatorial manipulations. These manipulations result in several new identities for the Martin polynomial, including a di.erentiation formula. These identities are then applied to get new combinatoria...
